YOU ARE SOOOOO LUCKY!!!! ...Turtles???? seriously??? YOU ARE SOOOOO LUCKY!!!! I have wanted a turtle since forever!!! The closest thing I will ever get here to a turtle is the resin figurine in my fountain. It is illegal here to keep them as pets...and I am certain that they would not survive in the wild in this climate...so I will live vicariously through you!!!
I wish for huge success and a big bounty from your garden this year lady...one week you should join in for Fertilizer Friday and knock our socks off with the photos you share!!!
hugs!!!Tootsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02313167135644565141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2577954446038205157.post-84698355968901318242010-07-05T18:32:34.583-05:002010-07-05T18:32:34.583-05:00Glad you knew about those beans Holly! I do hate when folks just vanish from the bloggy world without a word though. I have no idea why people have just gone AWOL on commenting lately. It's nuts. They pour in for really boring theme posts but seem to ignore interesting, lively posts. A pox upon them!Holly, the Old Western Galhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046366762069644586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2577954446038205157.post-44633583193120527332010-07-05T11:20:04.325-05:002010-07-05T11:20:04.325-05:00Holly I know! I skipped the squash this year since my garden is kinda small. I admit I miss that nice early harvest tho. I am hearing rumbling again so sounds like more rain is on the way. Too much rain and early high heat this year.... poor little garden.

I only plant Blue Lake so I don't know a thing about Scarlets - sorry! Thanks for reading my banter. I knew there were one or two of y'all out there! ;)Mary | Deep South Dishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06030573009618096220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2577954446038205157.post-44340963879934412682010-07-05T11:11:27.673-05:002010-07-05T11:11:27.673-05:00I have had a great harvest of cukes and squash her...I have had a great harvest of cukes and squash here in N.E. Alabama. My Blue Lake bush beans were just about a complete loss. I have a 2nd wave of Alibi cukes on the most beautiful vines on a teepee trellis but I cannot find the first male flower!!!! I'm afraid I'm going to have an ornamental feature only in this thing!
Our okra is coming in nicely. We planted Cow Horn.
I'm getting ready to plant some pole beans to harvest before the cold temps set in.
Our melons are looking good. We planted Shiny Boy hybrid and a canteloupe I cannot remember the name of.
What can you tell me of the taste of Scarlet runner beans? I like the taste of a good tender stringless snap for freezing. I always just cook them down with a little bit of black pepper bacon and onion.
Thanks and I LOVE your blog!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2577954446038205157.post-42626739503585841482010-07-05T10:17:03.632-05:002010-07-05T10:17:03.632-05:00Is that turtle eating French Bread?
I want to be ...Is that turtle eating French Bread?

I want to be a turtle in your back yard!

Yes, I noticed the lack of posts. Figured you were busy in the Real World.

I remember that drenching/steambath/drenching weather you mention. It was HORRIBLE, and where we lived it would put the quietus on the garden until FALL.

Maybe that crazy squirrel is trying to make itself a hula skirt. I have one that is wrassling with a ball of rope, threatening it, scolding it, etc. What goes on in their tiny minds?Holly, the Old Western Galhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046366762069644586noreply@blogger.com
