The recipe is pretty standard but what makes them special is the connection to my Grandmother. She made them everytime we visited and I am the only family member who learned how to make them from her. Just before she died, I made a batch and got them right...she loved them :). She added a little butter, some flour and milk, salt and maybe pepper, added cooked macaroni and fed the whole family...
