It's my 2nd year trying it - year 1 I had it on the edge of the eave of the house and it didn't do well at all. This year I moved it out to the middle of the yard on a plant stand and it's doing much better! You can read about all of my adventures here if you'd like:

http://www.mynew30.com/2010/04/topsy-turvy-upside-down-tomato-planter.html

There are links in the post to last year too.

Oh Faith! So sorry to hear that. Tomatoes are supposed to be pretty difficult to grow from seed I hear. Hope you get to garden this weekend!Mary | Deep South Dishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06030573009618096220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2577954446038205157.post-88510100697978719592010-05-14T08:16:04.393-05:002010-05-14T08:16:04.393-05:00Hi Mary,
Fresh maters....is there anything better...Hi Mary,

Fresh maters....is there anything better than that...? I don't even have mine in the ground yet. It has been raining for days now...too wet. The ones I started from seed to early? all died, with the exception of a pepper plant. They were beautiful, and then got leggy and that was the end of that. So I ended up buying tomatoe plants. I hope to get them in this w/e...frost date should have passed....have a great w/e.Faithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17808242476123222488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2577954446038205157.post-38220776533976214852010-05-14T08:13:37.667-05:002010-05-14T08:13:37.667-05:00Yum!

I probably eat at least 5 tomatoes each week, and if I grew my own, I know I'd eat more!Audrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11465882237144607632noreply@blogger.com
