My weatherman just mentioned that today is the first day of the Lunar New Year and that this is the Year of the Ox, the year he was born.
Those born in the Year of the Ox are dependable, calm, methodical, patient, hardworking, ambitious, conventional, steady, modest, logical, resolute, and tenacious. They can also be stubborn, narrow-minded, materialistic, rigid, and demanding.
Apparently those folks in that picture up there celebrated by having fun on the top of the frozen Haihe River in Tianjin, China. (Is that crazy or what?)
I was born in the Year of the Rooster, so it'll be a while before my year rolls around again - January 28, 2017. Those born in the Year of the Rooster are acute, neat, meticulous, organized, self-assured, decisive, conservative, critical, perfectionist, alert, zealous, practical, scientific, and responsible. They can be over zealous and critical, puritanical, egotistical, abrasive, opinionated.
I ain't sayin' nothin'....
My husband was born in the Year of the Rat. He is forthright, disciplined, systematic, meticulous, charismatic, hardworking, industrious, charming, eloquent, sociable, shrewd. He can be manipulative, vindictive, mendacious, venal, selfish, obstinate, critical, over-ambitious, ruthless, intolerant, scheming.
Well, I'll be...
So anyway...
I guess if you didn't get off on a good start with your New Year, you could technically call a "do over" and honor the Asian calendar, and just start fresh today???
